Some music nostalgia for you....

30 years ago (in 1977), the most popular albums in Montreal were:

A Star is Born (Original Soundtrack)..... Streisand / Kristofferson
Anyway You Like It................................. Thelma Houston
Hotel California......................................... The Eagles
Rumours.................................................... Fleetwood Mac
Year of the Cat......................................... Al Stewart
Wings Over America............................... Wings
Life is Music.............................................. The Ritchie Family
A New World Record............................... Electric Light Orchestra
Songs in the Key of Life........................... Stevie Wonder
Animals...................................................... Pink Floyd
Wind and Wuthering................................ Genesis
Night Moves.............................................. Bob Seger
A Rock and Roll Alternative................... Atlanta Rhythm Section
Hejira.......................................................... Joni Mitchell
Disco Inferno............................................. The Trammps

A testament to their longevity is that many songs from these albums are still being played on radio today. Will we be able to say the same thing about today's music in 30 year's time?

I don't think in this age of American Idol and one album artists, we get the chance or opportunity to create legends as we used to. Nor do the artists have the time to create a repertoire!
