During the year I was born, 100% of American households had electricity, 98% had a fridge, 95% had a stove and a radio, 78% had a telephone, 75% had a car, 43% had a clothes washer, 20% a clothes dryer, 13% air conditioning, 7% a dishwasher, 1% colour TV and 0% had a microwave or VCR.At least - according to this chart.
